Connecticon 40k GT info

So the main purpose of this blog is for releasing event information about wargamming at Connecticon (as I am the Head of wargamming at the convention).  For those of you who don't know ConnectiCon is New England's ONLY massively, multi-genre pop culture convention, the convention's focus is on all things pop culture and does every genre of pop culture in as big a way as possible. The event attracts over 10,000 people to the Hartford area annually, and plans to expand to other venues in downtown Hartford. ConnectiCon was the proud recipient of the Bring It Home Award from the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Connecticon runs from July 11-13th 2014

Registration for the Convention is $60 for the weekend (if purchased before 3/29 or $75 up until the convention.)  Then there will be a $10 entrance fee per player for the individual tournaments (used exclusively for prize support) To register go here, please preregister as waiting in the post reg lines may cause you to miss the start of the event.

For those attending I advise coming Thursday evening or Friday to pick up your Convention badge, the registration line is long.  If you arive on the day of the event you are playing in please arrive extra early to the event (i.e. if you come saturday I advise arriving at 7:30 am at the latest to ensure you get in the door in time.).

As for what is happening 40k wise:

On Friday the 11th there will be a 2000 point Doubles tournament.

Saturday (12th) and Sunday (13th) will be a 5 game 40k GT.

In addition there will be a megabattle running during the weekend.

  3. Do you send a confirmation email confirming that we are registered?

  4. Yes, I just had not gotten around to sending the first batch yet.

  5. Yes there is we are at about half full at the moment.

  6. One more question, you say single FOC, does that deny allies?

    ReplyDelete
  7. No, single FOC essentially denies the portion in the rulebook that states that at 2000 points you are allowed a second Primary detachment.

  9. for the doubles tournament, say I run inquisition, I am still limited to 1 hq and 1 elite. Am I able to use cypher if I have the rules and model as well or no?

    ReplyDelete
  10. If you run inquisition if you run it as primary the Henchmen would be 0-3 as per normal.

As for cypher you mean in the Team even? He would count as your HQ choice.

    1. so running inquisition as my primary for the doubles would overrule the 0-1 elite restriction?

      Delete
  11. yes because your "Elites" are essentially troops and due to the fact that you can only have 1 HQ, you are stuck with 1 HQ and 0-3 Henchman Squads "Elites" because you won't be able to ally anything in because you cannot take a second HQ.
